Following his high school graduation, Khaya faced the challenge of pursuing his musical dreams against his parents’ wishes. Despite their reservations, he remained active in music, serving as a music director for the church choir while studying project management at varsity college.

Khaya’s musical journey gained momentum when he joined the renowned gospel group Joyous Celebration as a backing vocalist. His talent and versatility soon became evident, leading him to explore various genres beyond gospel, including pop, jazz, and R&B.
